The block moves up an incline with constant speed. what is the total work wtotal done on the block by all forces as the block moves a distance l = 3.60 m up the incline? include only the work done after the block has started moving at constant speed, not the work needed to start the block moving from rest.

    I found a similar problem from another website which shows the diagram. This is because we need to compute first the net force to determine the work. Afterwhich, we can use the formula: Work = Force*Distance.

    Net Force = 12.2 N - wcosθ

    Since the weight is 30 N and the angle is 24°,

    Net Force = 12.2 - 30cos24° = - 15.2 N

    So,

    W = (-15.2 N) (3.60 m)

    W = - 54.7 J
