The motion of soldier's march-past is rectilinear motion.

The motion of needle of the sewing machine and surface of drum played are in periodic motion.

The motion of child sitting on a giant wheel and spinning top are in rotational motion.

    Explanation:

Motion is defined as the change in the position of an object with respect to time.

The soldiers march in a straight direction. So it is said that their motion is in rectilinear or straight motion. The motion which repeats with a certain time interval is known as Periodic motion. Here the needle of the sewing machine repeats the motion, so it is categorized as periodic motion. Giant wheel is a huge body which follows rotational motion on a child sitting on it. The surface of drum played is also a periodic motion because the particular thing repeats in time intervals. A spinning top plays rotational motion as it rotates around a single axis as a reference axis.
