A motorist drives 200 km from one city to another in 2.50 h but makes the return trip in only 1.60 h. what is the average speed for the total trip?

    Average speed = (total distance) divided by (total time).

    Total distance = 400 km

    Total time = (2.5 + 1.6) = 4.1 hr

    Average speed = 400/4.1 = 97.56 km/hr
