    Explanation:

    Geocentric model of the Universe states that Earth is at the center of the universe and all the celestial objects are going around it. In this model the Earth was considered to be stationary. Before the Johannes Kepler gave his laws of Planetary Motion, it was widely accepted model of the Universe. Although a lot of astronomers before Kepler supported Heliocentric model (Sun being at the center) they were either outcast by the society or were not able to prove their model correct.
