You check your cell phone repeatedly for a text message from someone you're interested in dating. It's impossible to know in advance how long it will take before the text arrives: sometimes there are minutes, hours, or even days between texts that you receive from this person. Once the text does arrive, your first checking behavior will be reinforced. What kind of reinforcement schedule is maintaining your checking behavior?

An individual that faces this situation will experience a variability and an interval as well.

    Explanation:

The reasons to support the reinforcement schedule that is being described lie on the fact that there is no standardized nor exact schedule of time in which "I" will be receiving the text message I am waiting for. Also, it could be inferred that the reaction toward the message that comes may be determined by the tasks "I" could be performing, or even if "I" am not in the middle of any activity.
