What women and movements developed during the Progressive Era that challenged the view that women were not interested in politics and would just do whatever they were told?

    NAWSA: It was formed in 1890, and the task was to work on getting the right for women to vote.

    Impact: After decades of suffering, and protesting, 19th amendment was passed in 1920, which gave voting rights to women.

    Earlier history of suffrage movement: The demand for the voting right wasn't new, it arose during the days of civil war, but wasn't that prominent. It became popular during late 1800's when the lobbying of the workers of these movements was successful they went every state to aware the local women. And challenged the notion the women aren't made for the household only, they have the potential to be involved in politics.
