Brainiest To Best Answer! Law Question! People with Private Property usually have the right to shoot any trespassers, especially when they are stealing anything of the owner's, such as crops. If a thief breaks into their private property and does damage to their property, (given that they have rights to shoot them in it), can they lock up or "put them to work" in their fields as punishment for their crimes, especially when the person knowingly broke this rule. Does having the right to kill trespassers mean they have the right to lock up, capture, or force them to do things against their will within their property line?

No, it does not. According to arrival six of the U. S. A constitution:

"In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence."

In accordance with other laws, you do not have any right to hold someone against their will, or make them do forced labor. Not only that, but they have a right to a speedy and public trial with an impartial jury of the state. You do not decide their punishment, nor do you enforce it. You contact the proper authorities, and defend yourself appropriately until said authorities arrive and take care of the situation.
