According to cognitive psychologists, the most common form of thinking involves mental representations that are called concepts. For the cognitive psychologists, thinking is being able to manipulate mental representations of the information available in order to give solutions to problems and to obtain conclusions. Concepts are categories of ideas and objects that are grouped according to certain properties that the objects or ideas share. An example of this would be having a candle and a match in a very dark room, you have objects in from of you and you have already ideas on what likely are the outcomes using the materials.
