At what stage of moral development is moral thought guided by principles that have been decided upon by the individual and may be in disagreement with accepted social norms?

    Post conventional stage of moral development

    Explanation:

    Lawrence Kohlberg proposed three stages of moral development which are;

    1. pre conventional

    2. conventional and

    3. post conventional

    In the post conventional stage of moral development, an individuals judgment is based on self-chosen principles, and moral reasoning is based on the individuals rights and justice and these decisions may not necessarily be the accepted norm.
