Which is an example of an institution where secondary socialization takes place?

    Primary socialization develops attitudes and values and it is influenced by the immediate family and friends. Secondary socialization on the other hand occurs in later childhood an it is influenced by non-family members. School is example of institution where secondary socialization takes place. The child meets other individuals, children and teachers who will also influence his behavior and values.

    The Institutions are Schools or Colleges Socialisation is learning the norms of society and mixing with it. It is divided in two parts Primary or secondary socialization Primary Socialisation is stage where an individual first comes in contact with the society. It is usually the family which teaches the ways to interact with society in this stage. Secondary Socialisation comes after the primary when the individual has learnt the basics and now he learns how to behave and what actions he must have in response.
