    In terms of "what's in it for me" dominant group members have little gain when they join efforts against privilege and oppression is true. Often times, the dominant group members have gained their place in the group due to either familial privilege, inheritance, and/or wealth; or oppression of minority groups.

    It occurs less often in history that dominant groups have become dominant due to fighting against oppression or privilege.
