What term did Durkheim give to the body of religious beliefs that give people a sense of belonging?

    I believe the answer is: Collective consciousness

    Collective consciousness refers to a group belief which encourages its followers to see the group's principle as the unifying force for the whole society.

    Having similar train of thought/principles with other people would make it easier for us to relate with one another and create some sense of belonging.
