It tells us how to perform particular procedures such as riding a bike, playing a piano, walking and talking. It happens unconsciously

    We use our past experience to actual know what to do without taking time to think about how we need to go about doing that task, it just happens automatically with this memory.

    It is important to develop skills like athletic skills and how we develop langauge effectively is also controlled by this part our memory.

    Using this memory we can ice skate, play baseball, drive a car, swim and climb stairs. To remember particular procedures on how to do even complex task is due to procedural memory.
