How is the mayflower compact an example of a social contract?

    The voyagers who arrived on Plymouth Colony aboard the Mayflower made an agreement that what ever laws they made would govern their lives and they all agreed that they would bide by them. This, as an example of a social contract, became a contract that all parties that live in the society agree to as a standard of living.
