    In attempting to use farming techniques not suited to the region, farmers in the Andes had weak crop yields. However, these same farmers are adopting the complex Incan farming methods with great success. For instance, growing corn, quinoa, and squash together forms a symbiotic relationship in which each plant benefits the other.
