Well it certainly supports the principle of separation of powers. The liberty of the general public is greatly at risk when one branch has a monopoly on all the power. History has shown us time and time again that 'absolute power corrupts absolutely,' A single branch of government with all the power is sure to abuse it, thereby damaging liberty for all. The three branches provides a check to the potential for that kind of abuse of power
