    Explanation:

    America's intent was to stay out of every European conflict possible. After Pearl Harbor and America's subsequent entry into both fronts of WW2 effectively ended any hope of ever turning back. The atomic power they came to be afterwords solidified that an isolationist America could never be a thing again.
