    The General Assembly of Virginia includes 140 elected representatives from the electoral districts of the state: 100 to the House of Delegates and 40 to the Senate. The House of Delegates is headed by Speaker of the Chamber, and the Senate by Lieutenant Governor Virginia. Each body selects a secretary and a parliamentary bailiff from its members.
