    Hansberry describes Walter as a lean, intense man with nervous movements and erratic speaking patterns. Beneatha's boyfriend and fellow classmate, who hails from a wealthy black family. George is an example of the small wealthy black class. While Walter laments the unfairness and harshness of his life as a young black man, George is happy to assimilate into the American dream. George looks down on Walter who is desperate to make money. George feels no connection with his African Heritage while Walter is happy to dance around the flat wearing African garb pretending to be a chief.
