    During the identification process, an individual would access the values/principles that held by the group and alter their own values/principles so it matched with the group's. The purpose for most people when they conduct an identification is to ensure that they do not seen as a 'pariah in their social group.'

    Example of this would be when a student force himself do drugs after he just joined a gang.
