    Richard’s memory error can be best explained in terms of interference. Interference is being defined as an occurrence in learning in which the person is interacting in both the new information and the transfer effects in regards of the learned behavior in the past in which Richard incorporates his new learning without fully understanding the question that he should have known the answer.
