    Children or infants in their stage of development cannot explain how they feel and so would need a lot more effort from the observer to understand what the young child may be feeling or going through

    This is in sharp contrast to adults who can readily describe how they feel to the observer and the observer may not need to put in more effort in trying to understand or confirm this.
