Why do toucans eat eggs?

    Toucans only turn to this option when they can't find fruit. When they can't find fruit then they munch on smaller prey such as juicy insects, tree frogs, snakes and lizards. They tend to hunt for other birds' nests to prey on the chicks and eggs found there. Toucans adopt this habit especially because they need to feed their own offspring who need more protein since they are younger birds.
