What is the best summary of the events described in the speech's first two sentences? a massive battle was fought on the site of the speech, and many thousands of soldiers died. many years ago people came together to form a nation, and now a war takes place there. the founders of the nation could not agree on how to best organize it, so war began. the speaker and listeners have decided to gather on this site to honor the memory of others?

    Referring to this excerpt: "Fourscore and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated can long endure.

    I believe the answer is:

    Many years ago people came together to form a nation, and now a war takes place there

    The first two sentence of the excerpt Tell the story about how the united states was intially formed by the founding father. It also mentioned the story about how the effort of the founding father was almost wasted due to the civil war that take place in the country.
