The two main determinants for a woman's social status are (1) child care division of labor and (2) contribution to the food supply. This is linked to different political, social, and economic variables which can be different amongst cultural configurations. Child care has historically limited women in their participation economically and socially. On the other hand, women had the highest rate of equality when they contribute the same amount to the food supply.
