Why is the commerce clause written in 1787 still adequate to meet the needs of the nation in the 21st century?

    Basically, the commerce clause that written in 1787 (back then created to regulate trade deals with the Indians) has a substance that still applicable in modern trade condition. (for example when we wanted to make a deal with a smaller developing country)
