That said, the role of the American family in shaping political views is dwindling as most American parents hardly talk to and educate their children on political matters except of course if the child is born into the home of a politician.

With the advent of the internet and social media as well as globalization, political information is readily available to young adults, giving them options in making their informed decisions especially if they believe that the views of their parents or teachers is biased.

Thus the internet creates a platform that makes political and social information readily available enabling them to be more liberal and flexible in their opinions than their parents on a myriad of social issues.
