The middle passage was the name given to the trip that slaves took across the Atlantic Ocean from Africa to the Americas. The middle passage is remembered in history as an incredibly oppressive trip whereby slaves were forced into slavery and then forced into overcrowded ships to be sold into slavery of some slave owner in the southern United States.
