What is the pattern by which certain regions, interests, or social groups line up with one party or the other?

    I beleive the answer is: Partisan Alignment

    Partisan Alignment is formed when the majority population of a certain region support one specific political affiliation.

    For example, in United States, the state of California is dominated by liberal leaning population while the state of Texas is dominated by conservative leaning population.
