As shown on the map, Norway and Southern Greenland on the same latitude (60° N). Why is Norway warmer than Southern Greenland in winter?

A) Southern Greenland is closer to the North Pole than Norway.

B) Norway has many active volcanoes which makes the weather warmer.

C) Ocean currents carry heat toward Norway, but not toward Greenland.

D) The North Pole is located in Greenland, making the place very cold.

    The answer is C - Ocean currents carry heat toward Norway, but not toward Greenland

    Explanation:

    While A is technically correct is isn't the best answer. Europe is at the same latitude as Canada, yet is a lot hotter in comparison to Canada's all around cold climate. The answer as to why this is the case is ocean currents, which have possibly the heaviest influence on earth's climate.
