This is a reference to the establishment of the core concept and principle of equality, and freedom that backs the United States of America. This can be found in the second paragraph of the famous Declaration of Independence, which was written by John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, and Robert R. Livingston. Though the phrase itself was penned by Jefferson.
