How did the Gold Rush affect the following: U. S. population, the environment, and the treatment of minorities?

    The gold rush caused a major population boom in California. The gold rush changed the environment, as well as the landscape. The mining destroyed areas of land and there were many dams constructed, which messed with rivers natural courses. It also impacted the treatment of minorities because it gave them more money.
