    It was observed that In Irigwe, education has now become keybin leadership and therefore young educated men are taking over community activities formerly conducted by the male and female elders. male elders have retained their influence at some local affairs in tiriki and are more involved in their sons' lives. The influence and status of female elders are also gradually disappearing.
