What information about ancient India have scholars learned from the Vedas? Do you think the Vedas are a reliable source of information? Why or why not?

    The Rig Veda, the Yajur Veda, the Sama Veda and the Atharva Veda are the holiest books of the Hindu Religion and one of the eldest record of Indo-Aryan civilization we have to this day. They contain spiritual knowledge, religious hymns and have enlightened scholars with their much contained reflexive insight. They offer a guideline of social, legal, domestic and religious costumes and guidelines followed by Hindus to this very day. Since religion usually governs and shapes the conduct and custom of society, these documents provide us a clear insight to the guidelines followed by people in 1200B. C ... Proving them a reliable source of information.
