In what ways did Japan isolate itself from the rest of the world?

    Japan stopped trading with foreign nations. Merchants and traders weren't allowed in, churches were desytroed. Missionaries were cast out of the nation as well. The remaining japanese christians were force to stop practicing their religion and renounce their faith or they could have suffered from possibly being executed.
