First of all, it is important to tell Jane that people who suffer from psychological disorders can have lives that are positive and happy. It would also be important to show her recent research into psychological disorders and deviance, as well as the criminal rates of people with psychological disorders. All of these would go a long way towards convincing her that she is mistaken in her assumptions.
