In an experiment, researchers manipulate one factor to see its effect on a target factor. what is this target factor called?

    This target factor is the dependent variable. This factor depends on the manipulation of the independent variable, or the variable that is being changed during testing. If there is an effect of any significance, by changing the independent variable, there should be a measurable change in the dependent variable.
