Reasons compared with current arguments for stronger immigration control:

Immigrants are said to threaten national security in most countries as terrorism has been on the rise and most foreign nationals found guilty of various crimes. This has caused strict immigration policies to be put in place as some countries in Europe resort to the prohibition of immigration and detention.

Most European countries have detention camps for asylum seeker and immigrants which has been deemed to be against human rights according to the United Nation. The treatment for those who are detained while awaiting proceedings isn't that different from people detained in criminal justice.
