In a research study, Word, Zanna, & Cooper (1974) tested the self-fulfilling prophecy as it relates to prejudice. They observed the differential behaviors of white interviewers who interviewed either African-American or white job candidates. They then trained other interviewers to manifest these two different interview styles. When the new interviewers later interviewed white job applicants, the white applicants who were treated like the African Americans in the first study:

A. confronted the interviewers and terminated the conversation

B. actually behaved in less effective and comfortable ways

    Explanation:

    When the new interviewers interviewed white job applicants, the white applicants been treated as African American job applicants in the first study experienced a loss of self - esteem and they also lost confidence and they where very much uncomfortable

    although the job applicants in the first study did not confront the interviewers and also did not terminate the conversation as well, the interviewers did not also confirm the Negativity that the job seekers were expecting because they were trained and acted professionally.
