Why does lee include the information on mr. cunningham's dealings with atticus in the middle of the classroom scene?

    I think, the excerpt "You really never understand a person until ... you climb into his skin and walk around it." Atticus made an attempt to understand the situation of Cunnigham and learn of his actions. The classmate of Cunnigham contributes the ill manners of Walter because of his poor economic status.
