Why doesn't Las Vegas get snow but Boston does?

The geography of the places affect the amount of snow because boston is closer to the north pole and farther from the equator but the opposite is for las vegas.

It's most likely that Boston is near the Massachusetts bay so it's near water so that means Boston is more likely to get cold than Las Vegas because Las Vegas is in Nevada but where Las Vegas is located at there is not ocean there is only small rivers
