    The answer is acidic. it only becomes neutral when it falls to the soil which is alkaline.

    Rain is naturally acidic, but what makes it even more acidic are the acid gases produce by nature acid such as volcanoes (sulfur dioxide is produced by volcanic eruptions). When they erupt, the smoke that comes out of the crater is full of acid gases.

    Nitrogen oxides can also be produced naturally by lightning strikes.
