Well according to Newton " an object at rest will stay at rest unless a force is acted upon it. And an object in motion will stay in motion unless a force is acted upon it" so theoretically it should keep moving but unless there is a continuous force or forward momentum acted upon it will stop accelerating and stop. Does that make sense?

Because of friction like floors have friction and that makes the thing or object work.
