Lithium is a very rare element that is found in nature in compound forms. These compounds are found in nature are hard to separate. Thus the lithium are very essential to recycle from used batteries.

    Option C

    Explanation:

Lithium is an element that is an alkali metal sitting in top of sodium in the 1st group of periodic table. Its a very strongly reactive element which reacts vigorously with each and every possible non metal to produce compounds. Also the availability of lithium on Earth's crust is very less.

And it's a very useful element used to produce different batteries, electronic circuits etc. So the price of this metal is very high. Thus recycling of lithium from the batteries are very essential to get a constant source of lithium for newer products.
