Transgenic organism:

Transgenic organism may be defined as the organisms whose genetic makeup has been modified by the molecular techniques. These transgenic organism are mainly produced in the laboratory for research work. The genes of one species can be modified or some other gene has been inserted in the organism.

The transgenic crop has been produced by the genetic alteration of the crop. The main advantage of the transgenic crop is to develop the enhanced quality and quantity of crop. Vitamin rich golden rice has been produced by the transgenic crop.
