Because of the conditions of the alpine biome, these factors contribute to the residual and graudal growth of the plant population.

The alpine biome is low in temperature, high in snow fall and with robust wind speeds. These plants are barely surviving in these types of conditions. Also the alpine biome has a higher sunlight rate which affects the plants development and homeostatic balance.

The reason why plants in the alpine biome typically grow very low is because the air is much thinner which means less nutrients, the air is also colder and the sun has more radiation. All of these factors contribute to the fact that the biome in these regions favors smaller and sturdier plants which can thrive in such conditions.
