1. He did not finish work until midnight he was too tired to drive home.

2. The record Sarah bought was defective she returned it to the store.

3. The speaker is a well-known poet he teaches a poetry seminar at the university.

4. The skills center offers job training to people who need it it can't guarantee jobs though.

5. The parking problem in the downtown area is getting out of hand the mayor suggests a new underground parking garage.
