    Answer: Maternal mortality rate is the number of female deaths per 1,000 live births. Infant mortality rate is the number of deaths of children under one year old per 1,000.

    Explanation:

    Don't confuse child mortality rate with infant mortality range, it has a different age range. Countries like Venezuela have higher MMR and IMR than countries such as Canada.

    Maternal mortality - Death of a woman while pregnant or within 42 days of termination of pregnancy, irrespective of the duration and site of the pregnancy, from any cause related to or aggravated by the pregnancy or its management but not from accidental or incidental causes.
