    False.

    Explanation:

Alfred Wegener was a geophysicist and is the father of continental drifting. He was the first that notice the similarity between continents and he proposed that the continents are continuously drifting. He noticed the great similarity between the south America continents and African continent. He saw that they fit like a puzzle. Alfred also gave evidence of the similar rocks structures and fossils found in different continents. He believed the only best explanation for this was that the continents was once together known as a super continent (pangea).

Wegener was able to give evidence of geologic features that are similar in different continents and he also gave evidence of fossils plants (glossopterus) that cut across the different continents.

The major problem of Alfred Wegener Continental drift hypothesis was that he could not explain the mechanism that causes the continents to drift.
