In terms of the American Revolution, the outbreaks of rebellion were a result of taxes passed by the English parliament and King on the American colonists. The American colonists were taxed on several different products like tea, paper, playing cards, etc. after the French and Indian War. The part that upset the colonists the most was the fact that they had no representation in English parliament. This means that taxes were being implemented by a group of people who never lived in North America nor did they know the colonist. These laws caused rebellion in the form of mob violence against tax collectors and boycott of British goods.
